ABSTRACT

To enhance pupils’ mastery in memorizing and spell correctly in verbal and in writing for each topic in English Language are being the major problem especially when they enter the Phase 2 in school. So, it is very important to give the strong basic mastery for the pupils while they were in Phase 1, that is during they were in Year 1 until Year 3. They are still very poor in spelling and they will only write the words based on the sounds they heard and never pay attention for the correct spelling. They did not understand the meaning of the words and always guessing and use the wrong words while label pictures. They are still very poor in speaking and enunciating of words is still very low and lack of confidence. There are three major approaches that have been conducted that are FLS Approach that use the music approach, FLEict approach that use the ICT skills among the pupils, and MVB Approach that motivates the pupils to have their own notes of vocabulary enrichment for each topic in English Language lessons. The pre-test had been conducted and the percentage of pupils that got excellent and good grades are still very low especially among the boys. After conducting those approaches among the pupils, the post-test had showed the enhancement in the percentage of pupils that got excellent and good grades. These approaches had been done to all 26 pupils of Year 2 Naim and had taken all the factors that had connection like the teacher’s factors, pupil’s factor, teaching content and the environment. The analysis of data had showed that these approaches were effective and interesting, and for further action, I believe the effectiveness will enhance if the continuous implementation done systematically.
